A Stirling Performance -
Neville Hay examines the career of Sir Stirling Moss, and reflects on the 52 years he has known one of the sport's greatest drivers.

With superb eyesight, natural ability, sharp reflexes and a high degree of physical fitness, Moss pre-dates today's professional drivers, and Hay points out that until 1960 there were few drivers without Stirling's total dedication. Quckly adapting to the new driving style required by rear-engined Grand Prix cars from Cooper and Lotus, Moss was able to retain his natural advantage over his competitors right up until his near-fatal accident at Goodwood.

Eric Thompson's Racing Reminiscences Part III-
In early 1950 a telephone call from John Wyer, Aston Martin's race manager, invited Thompson to a test at Silverstone in the previous year's 2,500cc DB2 (known as 'The Sweatbox'). A drive resulted, and Thompson was destined to share 'The Sweatbox' with John Gordon in that year's Le Mans 24 Hours (unfortunately ending in retirement). Further drives for the Feltham marque that year, and also a Cooper 500 and Bugatti Type 51, meant that in 1951 Thompson became a regular Aston Martin driver. He repaid their faith in him by finishing a superb third place in VMF64 at the French classic.

The Hamilton Tour 2004 -
Every two years racing driver, and classic car dealer bar none, Adrian Hamilton organises a tour for like-minded enthusiasts in the most fabulous cars. 2004 was no exception and this time The Tour took in the beautiful landscapes of Northern Spain. Cars entered included an orginal Ferrari 250GTO, a new Porsche Carrera GT, and the 1951 Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica of the article's author Andrew Fletcher.

Motorbike Miscellany -
Mike Jackson's regular column discusses the motorbikes of 'DSJ', the legendary 'Continental Correspondent' for Motorsport magazine in the '50s, '60s and '70s, Denis Jenkinson. Jackson recounts seeing seeing DSJ on a 199cc Triumph Tiger Cub during a Farnham Club Trial in autumn 1959.
