Ron Flockhart - Scotland's Forgotten Hero David Ross telsl the story of one of Scotland's finest, yet unknown to the general public, drivers: Ron Flockhart. After Edinburgh University, Flockhart finished military service in the army and embarked on a motor racing career that started with a humble MG TC, worked through several ERAs and reached the dizzy heights of a regular drive for BRM in Formula 1. His most famous achievment was winning the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1957 behind the wheel of an Ecurie Ecosse D-type Jaguar. He died in 1962, flying his beloved WW2 Mustang fighter, while attempting a record run from London to Sydney.
