Buick has announced the introduction of the Avenir finish in the Buick Enclave range. It is a new finish that will occupy the top position to offer maximum luxury and exclusivity on board this sedan. It has specific finishes for both exterior and interior. It will reach the brand’s dealerships at the beginning of 2018.

The Enclave, which is currently still in Buick’s showrooms, dates back to 2008. It is therefore high time for a successor. This new second generation of the Enclave is on the C1XX platform of General Motors, a base also used for the Chevrolet Traverse and Cadillac XT5.
Buick applies a design language to the Enclave of which we already encountered small pieces on the Avenir Concept, for example. That Avenir Concept, incidentally, was pretty important for Buick. With the study model, the Americans showed what was possible for Buick’s new label ‘Avenir’, a label intended for extra luxuriously decorated models. This Enclave is the first to get the extra tasty sauce poured over it.
The Enclave measures 5.19 meters in length, with which it grows about 6 centimeters in relation to its predecessor. With a weight of 1,977 kilos, the SUV puts just under 2,000 kilos in the scale. In addition, the Enclave is more than 160 kilos at its generation change.
On the engine list we find a 3.6-liter V6, a block that delivers 309 hp and 353 Nm. The block replaces the 292 hp V6 that lies at the front of the outgoing Enclave. Switching is done through a ninet speed automatic. Four-wheel drive is optional.

The Avenir version is already known to be offered at the Buick Enclave.
The new Buick Enclave Avenir will occupy the top-of-the-range option. Under the premise of offering the most luxurious atmosphere and exclusive image, it will wear a whole series of specific finishes. The Avenir finish has unique design features, first-class materials and a very complete standard equipment. A combination that will surely create a successful cocktail.
Influenced by the Buick Avenir Concept, the Enclave Avenir offers a more emotional image thanks to details such as the upper and lower grille combined with chrome wings. The Avenir badge is present on the front doors and the saloon can wear 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels or a 20-inch Midnight Silver. Both of exclusive design.
If we take a look at the interior, we will find a new environment in brown, a new upholstery for the seats, inserts in which the Avenir badge can be read and, in short, better finishing touches for each of the interior finishes of Enclave Avenir. We also have a Bose sound system, navigator, leather upholstery, practicable panoramic roof and specific plates on the doorsteps.

The SUV is fired by a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 hp. Well, this engine would probably not have been the first choice. But since it belongs to the good sound in the US and is in the base price of almost $ 40,970 in it, you can take it already.
The drive is done in series on the front axle, on request, it is of course also on all four wheels. Then even with a rear axle differential. Switches automatically over six or nine levels.
Now, based on the Peugeot 5008, there will be an SUV above the Grandland X. He should come in 2019. Whether he will have the many features of the Buick Enclave described above remains to be seen. But he will almost certainly not get one: four-wheel drive.
That does not fit into the architecture of the French. That may always be justified in the fact that the bulk of the buyer renounced anyway, but somehow it is like with V6 or V8 engines: From a certain class, they are simply a good sound.
